In the Spring of 2010, singer/songwriter Tyler Gurwicz and multi-instrumentalist Michael Anaya began a long-distance songwriting relationship – writing, recording, and sending ideas back and forth between Austin, Texas and Burlington, Vermont.
A few months and over fifty demos later, Michael & Tyler decided it was high time to come together and record their album, full band. In January 2011, the two friends made the trip to Riverside, California to meet up with mutual friend and mentor Mike Cosgrove. With Cosgrove on drums and and an ever-evolving roster of musicians including harpists, percussionists, and guzheng players, the resulting collective, MYSTERY SCHOOLS, is rock music for a new generation.
